Maitre Gims Background
Gandhi Djuna, or Maitre Gims as is his stage name, was born in 1986 in Kinshasa, Congo. He moved to Paris when he was just 2-years old. As a child, he grew up with support from a musical family. His dreams of becoming a rapper came closer, as he began working with other artists to produce music. In 2007, he started to work as a producer for music and further increased his collaboration with others. He released his single, “J’me tire,” and instantly received positive feedback. It was his first step on the pathway to serious fame, and it only got better from there.
